maxon motor sets up subsidiary in Italy
maxon motor italia S.r.l. began operating in Arese near Milan on 1 August 2007. The Swiss technology company is looking to build up its worldwide network through this new base in Italy and expand its activities on the European market of high-precision drives and systems of up to 500 watts output power.maxon motor was previously represented in Italy by authorised dealer Abaco which sold maxon's full product range of brushless and brush DC motors, planetary, spur and special gearheads as well as servoamplifiers and positioning controllers. In Italy, maxon drives are used primarily in medical technology, industrial automation and the automotive industry. maxon motor sees long-term potential in all these and other sectors, and setting up a subsidiary in Italy shows the importance of that market for the maxon Group.
maxon motor italia is taking over the drive business from Abaco at the Arese site near Milan from 1 August. Abaco's experienced team will be integrated into the new subsidiary and strengthened by the addition of drive specialists from the maxon motor Headquarters. This combination guarantees continuity and quality that will enable the company to cater more specifically for the needs of the Italian market.
Today maxon motor has a worldwide presence through 10 subsidiaries and more than 20 authorised dealers - from Europe through Africa, Asia and Australia to America.
