«C3PO», «T 800», «Sonny NS5» or «Wall-E». Who hasn't seen them - the artificial protagonists in science fiction movies like «Star Wars», «Terminator», «I, Robot» or «Wall-E»? But how close are these robots to reality?
Learn more about this in the latest maxon motor publication. The booklet "When it's about (e)motion." takes you on a journey into the world of robots and gives you answers to the following questions:
- How did it all begin? From experiments in antiquity to the use of hydraulics and clockworks in the Middle Ages onto the artificial intelligence of modern times.
- What is the situation today? By means of exciting examples of how robots are used, we see how maxon drives keep things in motion everywhere.
- Where is the journey heading? Developers and researchers speak about the future of robotics and the opportunities it offers.
You can order the booklet here free of charge. This issue is available in the language combination German/English.
By the way: The Museum of Design Zurich will have an exhibition on robotics from 24 June to 4 October 2009.
